I'm having some trouble with Cythera running...

  • I am having trouble with Cythera on both of my Macs. One is a 10-year old PowerPC that I upgraded to a 300mHz G3 running OS 8.6. Cythera keeps quitting up on me (especialy when I just accomplished something and was just about to save), saying that there's not enough memory for the program to keep running. I've increased the allotted memory, but it still does it. I think it might be a problem with conflicting extensions. Are there any extensions that might do this?
My other problem is with my new computer, a 700 mHz eMac running OS X. The game works fine, from a gameplay perspective, but the music is just not working. Actually, it works, but I only get little spurts of it, like a note at a time. I'm playing it with OS X active. Should I restart in Classic mode to play the game with the music?

I have run out of quotes for my signature. Please give me suggestions at bigjoe_512@yahoo.com

  • Do you have any applications running in the background? I only experience that error if I do.

For runnign it in OS X try starting in clasic. The music should be fine in clasic. But if you prefer to play without music feel free to play in OS X.

  • Thanks, GrahamVH. I figured that was the case with OS X. I still don't know what would do that on the old computer, though. I'm not running any other programs. My primary frustration with the PowerPC was that I forgot to save since starting out in LandKing Hall, so about 2 hours work right at the beginning was lost. Cythera's not the only thing that does that to it. I actually think it's the extension that allows the computer to recognize the speed upgrade. I checked again and the upgrade's manual said it might do that to some things. Oh well.

I Just thought of something. I have experienced this problem with another game and all I had to do was increase my virtual memory. That might help.
