  • I was just browsing through some very old stories in the chronicles board and noticed (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum52/HTML/000054.html")your comment(/url) to my story there. I actually didn't see that post until now, and I just wanted to reply, just so you know that I have no hard feelings ;)
I do know what you mean with "empire strikes back"-syndrome... plenty going on, but it never goes anywhere. And yes, I'm sure it was unavoidable :D so I'm not going to bite your head off any time soon!

Funny, I haven't been working on that chronicle for some time now (the old excuses: Exams, girlfriend, little spare time, skyrocketing phone bills, etc.). But I promise (again, heh) to become more avcite and contribute both to the chronicles and the web board! Just finished another story and submitted, so if the mods don't hate it, I guess it'll be up next Tuesday :)

And it was really interesting going back to read old chronicles by everyone! We have all surely improved our writing and authoring skills!

  • hi rogan i super like your chorilions i cant realy spell it but can you learn me that about map editing?what you did in your story too.please learn me.(i am fan of your books)

  • It's spelled "chronicles", and no, I don't think he can "learn" you map editing. You see, there is no way to edit Cythera. The screenshot in his chronicle is the product of taking little screenshots and putting them together and modifying them in a graphics program. He didn't actually change Cythera, he just made a picture, (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum52/HTML/000126.html")as he explained to me at the bottom of this post.(/url)

  • thank you big joe for the message i just need a little explane about what he did.

  • Hello there and welcome to the Cythera web boards, bellerophen, and thank you for enjoying my chronicles. That's nice to hear.

What I did was to take lots of screenshots of objects in Cythera. Then I made different Photosop documents for different types of items (furniture, walls and doors, people, etc). Afterwards, I just copy and paste into a blank document and make the houses in Photoshop. It takes a hell of a lot of time (like trying to beat Diablo II; Lord of Destruction in a single weekend), but I enjoyed it!

And yes, I had a lot of spare time

Single player or multi? If second, with or without help? Either way, all three modes of difficulty or just norm?

My gosh, that was a long time ago! I'm glad you didn't take it personally. One thing I should probably have added was that I know very well that some of my own stories have suffered from the same syndrome. Sometimes it's just plain unavoidable, no matter what you do!

Good to hear you're still doing some occasional writing, I'm about in the same situation myself. I have got a couple of stories on the go, and the first part of one might even be ready for submission soon, but time just seems to get scarcer and scarcer. I'll try to find the time to read your latest some time today.

  • I just finished "The Book of Tavara," and it took me forever. Anyways, it's a bit lack on description, but the plot was good. I think it would have sounded better if I (and not my computer) were reading it. Especially since the computer pronounced "Rogan" as "Low-gain" ;)
