  • ok everybody i started a tavern.
so please join and drink up all the wine.2 oboloi for a idiot.
and 1 for a smart strong hero.

  • I don't wish to to scorn you bellerophen, but Taverns are alot like TS's. And besides that we need at least three times the current number of members onlne at one time and furthermore they are usualy started by senior members--or members with permission from the almighty Slayer. Wait until business speeds up before starting something so big. If you want to speed up bussines here then add a Cythera Link to your signature and post meaningful comments on other boards. That way if they ask how you got to be so good then just point to you sig. OK?

  • WHY ARE YOU GUYS ALWAYS DOING THAT!!!!!!!!??????
YOU GUYS START A NICE TS(THATS COOL).BUT WHEN
I START ONE THEN EVERYBODY NEEDS TO COMPLAIN.
CAN YOU GUYS NOT JUST WRITE.I AM REALY PISSED.
IF THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME THAN I WILL LEAVE THE
WEB BOARDS.I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE.I WRITE A BEGIN
OF A TS.HE HAS WRONG SPELLING.OH I SEE ANOTHER ERROR.
IF THIS GO''S ON THAN I DONT FEEL MY SELF AT HOME AT THE WEB BOARDS.
JUST HELP MAKING A TS.IF YOU GOT COMPLANING TO DO.MAIL ME.AND
DONT PUT AL THAT DEBRIS IN MY TS.UNDERSTAND.AND SLAYER
YOU MUST MAKE EVERYBODY FEEL AT HOME HERE.YOU ARE THE MODERATOR.

  • Dude, chill. It's just a webboard. I actually disagree with visitor - you don't and should never need specific permission to start a ts (at least, that's not how they did it in my day...), but you should at least do a little background research and excercise some common sense before starting one.

  • You don't need permission to start a tavern/story. The members posting a tavern was just a continuation thing back when there was a post limit on topics, and it was usually just picking a poster to make a new topic so we didn't end up with five different "Tavern - part 3"s or something. The Alaercian Tavern specifically was Talos' creation, so whether or not he wants people to continue it is up to him because its his idea, but it sounds like from the last post Talos doesn't mind. You also don't have to stick to the Alaercian Tavern, there isn't just one tavern on the webboards.

Though you should also understand that few people post here, so its possible you may not have any replies for a few weeks or (if people are uninterested) maybe no replies ever. Don't take it personal, I've had (I think) four stories that I started and people (including myself in some cases) stopped posting in them due to lack of interest - dead topics happen to everyone at some point.

I think the big reason the other tavern, Part 7, isn't still around is because a lot of people lost interest in that topic.

That's not true, Grapper had a chron that was worse than yours. At least you had a plot.

I can't find any kinder way to say this, but please start putting spaces between sentences (after the periods). Your grammar and spelling aren't that bad (its understandable, that's all that is required - and nobody is perfect). I think if you start seperating your sentences with spaces it'd be a lot less noticable.

I recommend you sleep before making a decision like that. You're frustrated now, and that usually brings about negative outcomes. Ask Slug, he regrets some of the decisions he made while he was in a bad mood.

As for no compliments on your chronicles, I'm not sure but I think you aren't the only one with that problem. cache22 and Bryce both mentioned (many times) a lack of commenters on chronicles they wrote.

  • (OOC) A lot of this stuff comes with age and experience, bellerophen. We would all like you to stick around and contribute to our little community (even if your English is a little shaky). Perhaps I can explain why we may have been a little cold. Most of the posters around here are at least 15 years old, many are older, and they have been writing stuff on web boards a long time. I myself am 18 years old, and I have been posting on the Ambrosia web boards for a couple of years now. You told us yourself that you are only 10 years old, and that English is not your first language. Also, you only registered in May of this year, and you only post to this Cythera board and none of the others boards. Because we on this particular web board (Cythera) are generally older and/or more experienced posters, we can sometimes develop a slightly aristocratic nature, and we can sometimes be unwelcoming to people who we may perceive as inexperienced "newbies". This is not a good thing, and it is something we really need to work on as a group. I sincerely apologize if I have contributed to making you feel unwelcome, and I do hope that you stick around and post some more.

Now, as this is another rendition of the Alraeician Tavern, we should go ahead start having fun. :) I am introducing a new character, although I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to doing much more with him than bumming around in the bar. (/OOC)

The beautiful granite tavern glowed orange in the setting sun, the surface of the walls appearing to be made of flame. A man approached the large building. He was a traveller, from the looks of things, with a long walking staff, a green cloak draped loosely around his shoulders, and pliable leather walking boots. He was tall and thin, and he wore a long sword at his side. "ALRAEICIAN TAVERN," he read from the sign as he approached the large wooden door. "Sounds like a good place to put my feet up and have a drink," he said to himself. "Founded by citizen Talos in the ninth month of the year 2000," the man noticed in smaller print at the bottom of the sign. He opened the door and entered the tavern, puzzling over the strange date on the sign. Wasn't this year only year 750 or so according to the local dating system? He walked over to the bar, and asked the bartender for an ale, which he promptly recieved. He carried his mug over to the firepit and sat reclined on one of the many benches nearby.

(OOC) By the way, my guy's name is Greengage, and he's a mage, but he doesn't like to use his powers in public. I may or may not post a bio, so this may be all you get as far as a description. (/OOC)
