Stuck in Omen's test

Before you start jumping all over me, let me explain my problem. Yes, the dying Cythera community has a new member. Getting to the point:
I'm stuck in "Omen's Test". I found the room with the lever hidden under a crate, and I entered the next area, which was a bunch of hallways where weird spells (or something) transported me all over the place. I can't find my stinking way around these hallways, and into the next area. All I found were bones, a few cobwebs, and a lever in the center of the "room". When I pulled it, I heard the faint noise of a gate opening. But there are no scrolls, no nothing to tell me where to go, or what to do, next. Help?

If you can make it back to the room with the crates then move back to the place where you initially enered the test. There is a hidden wall underneath a lit torch there-WALK THROUGH IT.

Thanks, but I figured it out before I read your post. Now I feel rather stupid. I'll post if I need more help. I'm guessing that I will, since I bet there are much more hard puzzles than that one to solve...

Unfortunately, it just so happens to be that this community is dying. I don't understand it. I mean, it's normal for a community to die sometime, but I don't think there is anything that will ever beat some of the old games like Cythera and Marathon and stuff. Except for people like us, everything was always just about Unreal Tournament 2003 this and UT2003 that. Yeah, now that I've played Cythera, PoG (where I started here) is kind of...stupid.
OK, another question. I'm supposed to go learn magic at Pynx, but I don't know where to go or who to talk to. And I keep finding magically locked doors that say " <enter number here> degree hall". What are these? I can't seem to find a "first degree hall", is that where I start? Who do I talk to so I can complete this quest?------------------

Actually, you were on the right path for the hard way through Omen's test. You just have to teleport right to get to the open door. As for learning magic, I believe that Headmaster Lindus is on the first floor in the bottom left corner of the building. The doors are sealed for the degee doors, the book keeper can tell you about them if you ask him the right thing.
Omen's ring did do something BarneyOnSteroids, it replenished your health.
If I said it once I've said it a million times. Nobody can beat the classic games. I'm still playing Cythera on and off, I've been playing it since it came out, I've even beat it, though it took a very long time.

What exactly are the "degree halls"? Are you only allowed in (or told the password) once you reach a certain magical level?

Open the portcullis, using the leaver in the first room. In the second room, search the south wall until you find a secret door, open it and walk into the corridor that will be revealed. At teh west side of the coridor there is another secret wall, which you should open.
In this third room is a torch on one wall, search it, and you will find a Ring, put it on a voila! You have been awarded the Ring of Omen, it increases the rate of life regeneration so that poisen doesn't kill you.
Just go down the ladder now and you're all finished.------------------

Okay, another question: Where can I find the ingredients for alchemy? I found Slayer's infamous Cythera page, but it doesn't tell where to find peppermint, obsidain, diamonds, swamp beans, sulpher, and other such items. Can you buy them like in PoG? Or do you have to find them? And where can you find them?

Some ingredients and potions can be bought (gems, smith's friend), you can find certain items in certain locations: Obsidian and sulfur in the volcano, peppermint grows along a river (not having played recently, I forget which one), as for swamp beans or seed pods, one of those grew south of the mines (forgot again).

All right, I need help with something that I'm sure one of you more experienced Cythera players can help me with. A while back, I remember a beggar in Kosha giving me a clue as to the hiding place of the tomb of the second tyrant in Cademia. However, I seem to have forgotten what he told me because I didn't write it down, and whenever I go back to talk to him, he's too drunk to speak. The only thing I remember is the tomb entrance is somewhere in the castle, but I can't remember the exact hint, execpt: "Two paces past..." what? Do any of you guys remember what he said?

I think it was 2 paces past noon. If you give him enough money, he'll also give you the key, but you should just bash the door down and stuff. Anyway, two paces past noon, I THINK it was. Maybe I should check again. But try that. I'll reply sometime to tell if i'm right or wrong.

It's one of the trickiest puzzles in the game. Watch your minimap for changes when you pull each lever. Once you get through the maze and across the underground river, you'll need to figure out the dreaded "bell code". There's really no substitute for the feeling when you figure that monster out yourself. There's the throne room, which is hard to figure out, too. I swear, that tyrant sure made a graverobber-proof tomb, but the rewards are worth it.
