reputation??

  • I used bombs to open those two doors that are locked in Kosha and got all the armors and weapons there, just out of curosity to see what would happen, and no one said anything. Is this common throughout the game or will it have repercussions on later actions, if so, how can I know what my stats are for something like reputation? Is there such a thing in Cythera?

  • Yes, reputaation exists in the game--Its called karma. You can't actually know your Karma (save the grayness of your name when you talk--grayer the badder), and Its effects tend to be that people attack you. Your karma will not cause people to attack you IF they don't see you.

If you need to reset your karrma just leave town.

PS if you had "shakedown" you could have made pelagon drop his key and gotten into the storerooms without wasting bombs....

I figured there was some other way but, I don't seem to be able to follow some kind of thread(s) throughout the game, I find myself roaming around a lot and not getting enough info from people, is that just how the game goes? cause i start out a lot of lttle quests but hen it's like... oh ok, what next? I lost Meleager btw and can't find him anywhere i KNOW I left him in king's hall but nowhere to be found, is this a bug? Did he just disappear somewher? or am i just not looking harde enough?

Check the bridge where you first met him. If he's not there, you left him in a place where he could get attacked and he died. If you left him in LKH he should be there.

Personally, after the first shard I think roaming around is probably the best thing to do. Cythera has a lot of sub-maps, most (if not all) of which lead to something interesting. Explore what you can do.

Gotcha! ok, this is like a classic RPG (I'm just fining that out btw). Cythera rocks but I really hope that, just as for PoG (which rocks too!) which I played, Ambrosia will expand in the classic RPG games like , for example, I would love to be able to sail over the waters and find that Hey! Cythera is not only this there is land across the sea! (not to bring up any competition but, sorta like what Spiderweb Software did with Avernum and Geneforge, expand the world more. I'm hoping for a Cythera 2 which will be BIGGER! ;-) (same for PoG)

  • First off I'm not even going to touch the Cythera 2 comment. Second, well second is the rest, don't waste bombs of keys, just get a good ol' mace and bash every door you see, except those glowy ones. Also exploring is one of the fun aspects of Cythera, because you don't necesarilly have to go everywhere. I try and uncover the entire map for the fun of it.

  • I like PoG, and all, I use Coldstone, but quite frankly, it doesn't compare with Cythera. The thing I like about Cythera the most is the complete dependence on detail. Every little thing adds up to create the big picture. The Myst series is a lot like this, and these just happen to be some of my favorite games. Pillars of Garendall is good, but I see the plugins as the main feature that attracts me. Cythera? Let me put it this way. I love that game so much, that I've installed it under Panther and still play the entire game every month. It just has appeal, with all the books written out, everything just weaves together to create the masterpiece that it is. I would love a Cythera 2, but I think that would ruin the central core message of Cythera. Balance has returned, and there is no more need for a hero. If you really want a Cythera 2, I might suggest writing chronicles, and participating in TSs. Create your own stories for Cythera, and you will never have to think about a Cythera 2 again.

But Ma, I WANTED to contract seven rare and dangerous diseases found only in cult rituals involving mice!

  • I still think that they should creat a Cythera 2, you where right that they would have to create a completely now storyline because Cythera doesn't need a new hero unless the hero went over sea and then it became all chaotic again, it would have to be a new map buy still resemble the old one.
