I understand that Alchemy and Healing are quite useful things to learn, cause they help you alot.
But where can I really need Runic Magic? Could anyone tell me?

When beasts and demons chase after you.They might not step on the runs but you could try.

Smartie: I didn't find any use in runes. I just used them for blocking. I'd just learn Runic Magic, but only learn Rune of Blocking. It will come in handy later...

When you first explore the First Undine Stronghold, casting rune of blocking in front of rooms originaly containing liches can save a lot of hastle. Just make sure you've gotten everything within, first.
